“Its time we stop, hey…what’s that sound? Everybody look what’s goin’ down.”

We live in a time where the tools of communication between people are as powerful as they have ever been. The Internet has opened up so many doors for us, and at the same time it has brought the brutal reality of our world into our homes. Naturally there are some negative aspects of it, but they are outweighed by the amazing ability to meet and communicate with people from all over the globe at any moment you wish. The ‘net has done more to erase the illusionary lines of country, race, religion, and gender than anything else in our modern times.

Despite this, we also live in a time where the political machine has us more separate than ever. Rational debate has been replaced by ignorant self-righteousness. The hypocrisy of “united we stand” is laughable to the point of tears.

This is my first foray into the world of blogging. I have no special training, no experience in politics, no background worth mentioning. All I have is whats in my head, a keyboard, and a desire for understanding. Through this site I hope to challenge and be challenged, not only by the task of creating original material but also by conversing, debating, and learning from anyone who cares to engage me on it.

If humanity is to stand the test of time we need new ideas, new ways of thinking, and new philosophies on life. We can’t trust the powers that be to do whats right for us anymore, if indeed we ever could. If what they tell us about freedom and democracy is true then we should be the ones who step up and write our own story, not blindly accept the one that they write for us.
