When I was a child,
I spake as a child,
I understood as a child,
I thought as a child:
but when I became a man,
I put away childish things.

Bible, 1 Corinthians 13:11

Over the course of my life, I’ve worn many hats. I’ve been a gardener, busboy, dishwasher, grocery store clerk, secretary, baker’s assistant, flower delivery driver, bank teller, office temp, inventory clerk, photo developer and metalworker. Let’s not forget my 7 years of college student status either. What some might call evidence of indecisiveness I consider to be a wealth of experience. A treasure trove, even, that I would not trade for anything available on this planet. Every experience so far has led me to where I am at, being the person who I am.

The opportunity to participate in The New Wisdom was as welcome as it was unexpected. To date, my ventures into online commentary have included little more than funny political cartoons and minor remarks on daily news events at a friendly message board. This chance to move a step beyond that is not one that I would willingly miss or pass up. It appears to me as way to expand my own ability to send my ideas out as well as expose me to more ideas from outside. Since I am always looking to grow as a person, this new pursuit becomes a great springboard for more development. Bring it on.

I won’t deny that I am outspoken. I’ve got a peculiar personality quirk that motivates me to say almost anything to anyone, irregardless of the consequences. Stiff pride in all its forms deserves a swift kick in the ass, in my opinion. So while I’m tearing down your religion as an insitution of totalitarianism, be aware that I am attempting to intersperse the offensive with the humorous. If your favorite Cabinet member or political figure ends up in my sights, I’ll try to spend as much time pointing out how often they look like an idiot on the news as I do trying to remind everyone about their questionable ties to lobbying firms directly related to their political position. America needs a better sense of hilarity in these times of increasing moral oppression and cultural backsliding. If you can’t view most of what happens in your county, state, country or planet as a piece of the ever-expanding cosmic joke, I might not be able to help you. In today’s society, our culture of materialism and greed is the disease, and laughter, to me at least, still remains the best medicine.
